CARE PROCESS

Reason for Chiropractic Care

The process of correcting problems with the spine is accomplished through very specific adjustments.  “Subluxation,” which is the formal name for spine problems, is the misalignment of vertebra as related to the one above and/or below.  Left uncorrected, spinal nerves are impinged, causing interference with nerve impulse transmission throughout the body.

Initial Visit

Chiropractic care begins with an assessment of your need through inquiry, observation and if necessary, a video fluoroscopy.  The video fluoroscopy is a motion x-ray which is reviewed for the initial prescribed treatment.  Because the motion x-ray is stored in a database, it can be review at a later date to compare upon re-evaluation.

Routine Visits

Each visit to our office for spine adjustment begins with a thermal scan.  The Derma-Therm-o-Graph (DTG) is an instrument that measures infra-red heat radiating from the spine resulting from nerve pressure.  The reading is use by the doctor as part of the diagnosis for the specific adjustment.  This monitoring prior to each adjustment is useful to achieve the highest possible treatment results.

Some patients are prescribed a time on a “portable wobble chair” (for lower back) if needed.

Then the actual spinal adjustment by the doctor takes place with the use of the Zenith chiropractic table.

Completing a visit, some patients are prescribed time on a Spinalign automated massage table to relax muscles for optimal results.

Periodic Re-evaluations

Upon completion of the first phase of adjustments, patients are re-evaluated for possible variation of treatment plan.

Lifetime Maintenance

Upon completion of spine correction, it is recommended that patients continue receiving maintenance adjustments during the year.
